The aims and scopes of Aegeus for 2010 are:

1. The creation of a website through which:
1.1. The members will have a personal professional webpage. Each member will be able to modify their webpage with their own access code provided by Aegeus.
1.2. The members will be able to present their projects and research in specially created webpages (poster format).
1.3. Recent publications will be presented. Recent archaeological news, job opportunities, as well as any event related to Aegean archaeology all over the world will also be advertised.
1.4. A database of abstracts of completed or on-going Ph.D. theses and a detailed bibliography of all the members will be included.
1.5. Ph.D. theses in .pdf format will be made available.
1.6. Interviews from archaeologists with a long standing contribution to Aegean and Cypriot archaeology will be presented.
1.7. Members may exchange ideas and have productive discussions on the prehistoric Aegean (internet forum).
1.8. An online library with members’ publications in .pdf format will be included.
1.9. A series of book reviews will also be made available.

2. The subscription to several archaeological journals. All Aegeus members will have free electronic access to these journals.

If you are in any way involved into the archaeology of the Aegean or the Mediterranean in general during Prehistory, as well as during the Early Iron Age, and should you wish to become a member of our Society please complete the two following application forms and send them electronically to info@aegeussociety.org:


In the near future, members of Aegeus will also receive two more application forms: one for the creation of a personal professional webpage, and another for the creation of a webpage, where they will be able to present their excavations and other research projects.

Even those who are not prehistoric archaeologists, but are interested in the Prehistory and Early Iron Age of the Aegean and its neighbouring regions may become members. Undergraduate archaeology students are also welcome to become members. Such members will not be able to create a personal webpage, but their name will be mentioned in the list of members published by Aegeus. As with all other members, they will have access to all other Aegeus services, such as electronic journals, the library, and also significant discounts on future publications of Aegeus, participation in events and excursions, while they will be able to request any assistance they need (i.e. regarding archaeological bibliography or other information). These members may complete the Initial Member Application. Undergraduate students of archaeology should also send a photocopy of their Student ID.

The annual subscription fee is 40 Euros, and 30 Euros for undergraduate students. Whoever wishes to and their application has been approved by Aegeus, can pay their subscription fee for 2010 either via the Paypal account link below or at the bank accounts provided below (please note that Paypal is the safest and cheapest way to complete this transaction particularly if you are not in Greece).
