Forgotten Collections of the Bronze Age Trojan Antiquities: Branievo, Poznan, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Warsow
Dariusz Maliszewski Archeologia LX (2009): 7-17.
Abstract
The article focuses on forgotten collections of the Bronze Age artefacts from H. Schiemann’s and W. Dӧrpfed’s excavations at Troy. It presents briefly their complicated history, partition and donation to many institutions in European cities, including five in Poland. Based on detailed studies, it reconstructs classes of the objects and their approximate number, which supplements our knowledge about the distribution of the Trojan finds outside Berlin. Finally, of many recognised forms several crucial ones have been discussed within the Anatolian-Aegean Bronze Age cultural context.
