The absence of architectural remains in the few excavated prehistoric settlements of Epirus has been interpreted by many researchers as a proof that the prehistoric inhabitants of Epirus were nomads. The characterization of a site as a permanent or a temporal installation has been based for a long time on the analysis of the archaeozoological material (sex and age of the animals). However, according to contemporary approaches, the pottery production can be used as an indication of the mobility of a group. This is based on the extent of the standardization (shape, size, weight) and on the time that the potters invest in the construction of their vases (decoration, firing).

The present paper examines the relationship between the local pottery production and the practice or not of nomadism from the inhabitants of Epirus at the end of Bronze Age based on the facts from the settlements of Krya at the basin of Ioannina and Liatovouni in Konitsa.
