Repair, recycle or modify? The response to damage and/or obsolescence in Mycenaean metal vessels during the Prepalatial and Palatial periods and its implications for understanding metal recycling

Many repairs were apparently linked to the prioritisation of other production factors over the final vessel appearance. Generally vessels of precious metals and lead were not repaired, nor were certain copper-alloy vessel forms. The Sea Peoples, from cuneiform tablets to carbon dating

Here, we report a stratified radiocarbon-based archaeology with anchor points in ancient epigraphic-literary sources, Hittite-Levantine-Egyptian kings and astronomical observations to precisely date the Sea People event.
