Abstract

In this book an attempt is made to reconstruct the diet of the prehistoric Therans, primarily through the remains of foodstuffs found in the ruins at Akrotiri, but also indirectly from the depictions of plants and animals in vase-paintings and the wall-paintings. The ways in which the inhabitants of the prehistoric city prepared and consumed their food and drink are sought through the various related constructions, cooking vessels and tableware.
