Ιωλκός. Η εϋκτιμένη πόλη του Ομήρου. Ένα αστικό κέντρο στο μυχό του Παγασητικού κόλπου Ο μυκηναϊκός οικισμός του Διμηνίου αποτελεί ένα εξαιρετικό παράδειγμα ανάπτυξης ενός μεγάλου αστικού κέντρου στην ανατολική Θεσσαλία, καθώς είναι ο μόνοs από τους τρεις γνωστούς οικισμούς στην παραλιακή ζώνη του λιμανιού του Παγασητικού Κόλπου (Κάστρο Βόλου/Παλιά, Πευκάκια και Διμήνι), αλλά και από τους υπόλοιπους μυκηναϊκούς οικισμούς της Θεσσαλίας, που έχει ανασκαφεί συστηματικά σε μεγάλη έκταση.

Du massif de l’Ida aux pentes du mont Diktè. Peuples, territoires et communautés en Messara du XIIIe au VIIe siècle avant J.-C. Tout en tenant compte des nouveautés apparues au cours de cette période charnière, on remarque une forte continuité de l’âge du bronze à l’âge du fer, y compris d’un point de vue linguistique, comme en témoignent les inscriptions d’Ini. Au fil des siècles, les habitants de la Messara et des montagnes environnantes, qui ont su développer une économie florissante fondée sur l’agricul-ture, l’élevage et l’artisanat, se sont mélangés aux nouveaux arrivants (Mycéniens du continent, «Doriens», Levantins), en donnant ainsi naissance à une culture où la tradition et les nouveaux apports coexistent et se mélangent au cœur de l’une des régions les plus fertiles de Crète.

A solar eclipse’s evolution was described in the Iliad in a stepwise mode manifested in increasing gradual darkness, during a warm day at late noon; from Sarpedon’s death time to few later from Patroclus’ death time. We examined the solar eclipses within the time span 1400-1130 B.C. and we found that only the annular solar eclipse on 6th June 1218 yr B.C. observable in Troy with significant obscuration 75.2 % fits fully with the Homeric descriptions.

The nine tholoi in the general area of Mycenae are examined with respect to their topological siting and relative to possible astronomical phenomena. We find that none of the tomb entrances was intentionally built to observe astronomical events such as the equinoxes.

Tegea IΙ. Investigations in the Sanctuary of Athena Alea 1990-94 and 2004 Knut Ødegård and his collaborators have held a key position here, but their survey work and other projects have focused on an analysis of the landscape surrounding Tegea and on the urban centre, not on the sanctuary. We expect, however, that the results from our first excavation project in the sanctuary of Athena Alea, as they are presented here, will encourage work to be continued also there.

Tegea I. Investigations in the Temple of Athena Alea 1991-94 Knut Ødegård and his collaborators have held a key position here, but their survey work and other projects have focused on an analysis of the landscape surrounding Tegea and on the urban centre, not on the sanctuary. We expect, however, that the results from our first excavation project in the sanctuary of Athena Alea, as they are presented here, will encourage work to be continued also there. In such a continuation also the Norwegian institute and Norwegian archaeologists want to participate.
