Aegean Studies and Happy New Year!

Aegeus team is very pleased to announce the electronic publication of the first two articles of its new journal Aegean Studies: “Shifting Boundaries: the transition from the Middle to the Late Bronze Age in the Aegean in a new light”, by Iro Mathioudaki and “Sea people, Egypt and the Aegean: the transference of maritime technology in the Late Bronze Age-Early Iron transition (LHIIIB-C)” by Jeffrey Emanuel.

Aegeus and the Swedish Institute at Athens are happy to invite you to the lecture: ‘Rescue and archaeological research at Kleitos, Kozani: the Neolithic settlement through space and time. The diachronic use of the site' (in Greek) by Christina Ziota (Ephorate of Antiquities of Florina).

The lecture will take place at the Swedish Institute at Athens (Μitseon 9, Acropolis Metro station), on Friday 12 December 2014, 19:00.

Olga Philaniotou’s lecture

Dear members, friends and colleagues,

We are very pleased to announce the programme of our Autumn Lectures, and we invite you to our first lecture that will take place at the Swedish Institute at Athens on September 26 (at 7 pm).

Happy Autumn & upgrade of the Aegeus website!

We would like to inform you that the Aegeus website is under upgrade. The upgrade will be completed by autumn 2014. As a consequence, our website will not be updated, except for the sections LECTURES and NEWS. Also, due to our heavy workload, the next full newsletter will be sent out once the upgrade of the website is completed. Brief notices, however, will continue to be sent via email.

Aegeus’ Annual Meeting on 5th of June 2014

Aegeus – Society for Aegean Prehistory celebrates its fifth birthday and is pleased to invite you to its Annual Meeting which will take place on Thursday the 5th of June 2014, at 7:00 pm at the British School at Athens, Upper House. We will present a brief flashback of Aegeus over the past five years and the work undertaken during the previous year (in Greek).

Giorgos Bourogiannis’ lecture

Five years of Aegeus

This March Aegeus reaches its fifth birthday, and is celebrating with new activities!

We are very happy to announce the publication of the first article of our journal, Aegean Studies, by Iro Mathioudaki, ‘Shifting boundaries: The transition from the Middle to the Late Bronze Age in the Aegean under a new light’. At the present the article is published in an electronic form (html), while the official template of Aegean Studies will be available after the updating of the website.
